Make Your Staycation a Nakation at Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat in Peebles Ohio

With budgets strained by a historic recession and rapidly rising gasoline prices, more and more people are choosing a "staycation", keeping close to home to enjoy local attractions without breaking the budget.

Many people are also taking pleasure and relaxation to another level by going on a "nakation", which is an experience at a clothes-free resort, campground or nude beach. If you have never sunbathed, been swimming, enjoyed nature, walked through the woods, relaxed or partied without the confines of clothes, you have missed out on one of life's simple but rewarding pleasures.

In 2003, a Forbes article estimated that nude recreation was a $400 milllion a year industry, including cruises, resorts and merchandise. In 2011 it has grown to what is conservatively estimated a $440 million industry.

According to the American Association for Nude Recreation (www.aanr.com), a nakation "is a great way to relax and recharge. When clothes come off, so do most of the mental cues that tie us to the work-a-day world. Nakationing frees the spirit and enhances the senses. Plus packing for your Nakation is a breeze: some sun block, a towel, and maybe your favorite book then you’re ready to rest, relax and re-energize."

At Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat in Peebles, Ohio (www.cedartrailsnudistretreat.com), you can combine your "staycation" with a "nakation", experiencing the freedom of nude recreation in beautiful Adams County, at a campground with amenities including a heated swimming pool, hot tub, recreation pavilion, modern bathhouse, weekend food service, fishing pond, volleyball court, and so much more.

Hike the 5 miles of walking trails the way nature intended, through 60 acres of natural woods, around the open horse meadow, and along the overlook trail with a panoramic view of the ancient meteor crater.

Join the friendliest people in southern Ohio for many of the social events planned this summer, including the kick-off Memorial Day weekend events, 20th anniversary celebration on June 25, Nude Recreation weekend on July 9, and many other events scheduled and spontaneous, culminating with our annual hog roast on Labor Day weekend.

Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat was recently featured on the Bill Cunningham show on WLW Radio 700 in Cincinnati, spotlighted in the May issue of the AANR Bulletin, and has been profiled by local TV stations and newspapers over the years, including the Dayton City Paper and the Cincinnati City Beat..

Cedar Trails was founded in 1991 by Fred and Jo Anne Roessler, who live on the property and work hard to maintain all the facilities and natural landscape. "It's basically like any other campground with standards better than a state park, except that the people here are nude", Fred says.

Cedar Trails is affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation and adheres to the principles and guidelines of that organization. The atmosphere at an AANR club is wholesome and friendly. The campground is not clothing-optional, meaning that people who visit are expected to be nude, and no swimwear is allowed in the pool or hot tub. The Roesslers are very understanding of first-timers, but generally once people are here and see everyone enjoying natural recreation, the clothes come off within 10 minutes.

Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat opened to non-members on May 1, so call today to plan your "staycation nakation". The campground is just an hour’s drive from Cincinnati, 90 minutes from Lexington, Kentucky, and two hours from Columbus, and many people also visit from West Virginia.
